Professor Jasser is a dedicated educator and interdisciplinary scholar whose work bridges rigorous data science with the rich, contextual inquiry central to the liberal arts. He has a PhD in Computer Science and a Master's in Management of Information Systems, combining technical skills with an understanding of the human aspect of data.
His research explores the complexities of digital information in an increasingly connected world. With extensive experience analyzing large-scale datasets from social networks such as Twitter, Reddit, and GitHub, Professor Jasser examines how misinformation, disinformation, and controversy circulate online. He is particularly interested in understanding the cultural and social dynamics that influence the ways in which information is disseminated and reinterpreted, a perspective that resonates deeply within the liberal arts tradition.
Beyond his research, Professor Jasser is passionate about engaging students across disciplines. He believes that the tools of data analytics can enrich our understanding of literature, history, society, and art by revealing patterns and narratives that might otherwise remain unseen.
