Curriculum
An applied approach to teaching rooted in the liberal arts
The MAT program features an experiential curriculum grounded in proven instructional best practices. In addition to mastering content specialization, the teaching and learning process, and the application of educational research to classroom instruction, students complete a semester-long student-teaching experience in a local school district.
Upon completion of the program, graduates are prepared to meet professional certification requirements for elementary teaching in the state of Florida. Rollins’ long-standing partnerships with local schools provide a direct pathway to leading your own classroom.

Real-World Rigor
In addition to taking core and specialized courses, you’ll participate in at least 100 hours of pre-internship experiences in elementary settings and spend a full semester student-teaching at a local school.
Full-Time Track
The full-time program sequence allows students to complete the MAT program in five semesters and one summer course.
