At Rollins, our co-curricular pre-law track doesn’t require you to take specific courses. Rather, you’ll work with our advising team to create a personalized plan of study that targets your interests and guides you toward the type of law that aligns with those interests. You’ll hone skills in argumentation, logic, and ethics while mastering the art of writing clearly and persuasively.
Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in groundbreaking research, professional development, and extracurricular activities designed to give you a competitive edge. Beyond the Classroom
Debate Team The Rollins Debate Team is nationally recognized as one of the best in its class, giving pre-law students the opportunity to put their argumentation and logic skills into practice in competitions around the globe. More than 25 percent of debaters go on to attend Ivy League law schools, and over 90 percent attend schools ranked in the top 20 for law.
Relevant Research Through Rollins’ Student-Faculty Collaborative Scholarship Program, you can work one on one with faculty on original, graduate-level research. As a law student at the College of William & Mary, Melissa Fussell ’13 continued research that she started at Rollins with philosophy professor and pre-law advisor Eric Smaw on unethical property claims during the infamous 1920 Ocoee, Florida, race riots. She went on to publish her findings in The William and Mary Law Review and now serves as a federal public defender in Orlando.
Career Champions Rollins’ Career Champions mentorship program pairs students with successful graduates who provide insight into life after graduation—grads like George Sciarrino ’07, a member of the New York City Bar Fashion Law Committee who mentored Mariam Tabrez ’18 as she applied to law programs and nailed down a specialty in the competitive world of fashion and entertainment law.
